Goals Plus Focus Equals Greater Success!
Posted: October 30th, 2009 | Author: Matt Levenhagen | Filed under: Inspiration, Your Mindset | Tags: focus, goals, Inspiration | 26 Comments »The trouble with there being SO MUCH advice out there is that the important messages become watered down. It’s almost impossible to implement every idea and absorb every lesson to apply. That doesn’t mean they aren’t powerful and work.. they just aren’t applied.
But once in a while that special individual shows us that the things we teach as Business or PPC Coaches, when applied, are powerful indeed. I’m going to highlight such a person here. His name’s Steve Kibble (in our forum his username is StevieJK if you want to look him up after you join..).
One of the things we encourage in our PPC and Affiliate Marketing Membership is for individuals to share their success stories. We also encourage each individual to set goals.
This is Steve’s signature:

He just reached the second goal there this last month.
Exciting stuff! We have many other members that use their signatures like this as well and tally their accomplishments as they come. Steve’s just getting started, but many others have reached much larger goals over the last few years.
I chose to highlight Steve because this is a fresh success; so it means more ‘today’. Plus, overall, he’s doing everything right. It isn’t about luck in his case. It’s about the energy he brings to the table and absolute commitment to his goals.
So here’s the thing.. Steve’s reaching these goals not because of the method. Everyone that joins my membership gets the same material. The question is why do some fail and why do some excel? Part of it is their commitment to their goals and.. FOCUS.
Doesn’t matter what method of building a business you are pursuing online. If you don’t have a total commitment to that method or strategy and if you aren’t focusing long term on it, you stand a better chance of not making it work for you.
These two things – Goals and Focus – have gotten more success for more people than any other. And they are inseparable. You can’t have goals without focus; and you can’t focus without goals.
I have no doubt Steve will continue.. this is just the tip of the iceburg of what he’s been doing. He’s been posting all his experiences and progress (good and bad) in our private forum. It’s great to watch and I know it will inspire and motivate many of his fellow Blasters – current and future.
Putting your goals out there in front of the community helps in another way as well.. as the community can help motivate you and when you put yourself out there like that, you are less likely to quit.
After posting some screenshots of his affiliate network commissions, he said..
It kinda feels really cool to know that all of this stuff really works, and what is achievable by just focusing on what works and sticking with it and not getting distracted by other methods.
Goals and Focus…. WILL Lead to Greater Success FOR YOU! Do you have both?

Matt here is right about Setting up goals and keeping focus in order to achieve them. As a member of the Blasting community as well, I have set some big goals for myselvf and slowly but surely, am geting there.
Great motivational read.
To set clear reachable goals and to be determined to work your way to complete them is valid on every matter in life. If you are losing your focus and you are not disciplined you can not be successful.
What motivates you to accomplish your goals is with hard work. You can’t have a greater success if you don’t work hard. I agree “goals plus focus equals to greater success”.
I agree. It is much more success if you put the determination there.
I feel Personal coaches are too expensive, but i am sure that if i had the money for one in the first place that he/she would certainly pay for themselves in the long run.. Determination is hard to achieve if your not a driven person.
To set clear reachable goals and to be determined to work your way to complete them is valid on every matter in life.
I agree. It needs effort to get success.
No one is going to succeed if no one is serious with their work.
Very nice post. A successful one is the one who loves he’s business and do everything to make it expand.
Nice blog here. Got an idea. Keep blogging.
I like the quote below! -> “Failure is not just one possible path; it’s practically the only path to success.” I totally agree with this one. Experiencing failures in life give you the courage to move on and to continue achieving your goal. It’s not the end of your world, but rather, it’s just a start of your journey to success.
Hey Matt
I would add 1 more element to your equation for success in making money in a home based business.
Goals + Focus + Action = greater success.
Without action, its great in theory, but everything really comes down to actually executing your strategies.
Regards,
Darrell
@Francois – Absolutely! It’s an indispensable element.. check out my article here that touches on that very topic! >> Desire, Failure (Trial and Error) leading to Affiliate Success!
@Darrell – Excellent Add! That is very, very true. I would almost be tempted to even modify ‘Action’.. maybe Consistent Positive Action.

Very nice indeed. I often thought i can take much ideas in here. Thanks.
Every body needs inspirations, intelligence and wisdom; together with knowledge, science and penance; of the subject and object; actions and activities; and strength and powers of; success of self and goals of success of self.
Your right and so is the above commentor. Great post
Very interesting, well thought out post. Nowadays, posts such as this help uplift the everybody’s spirit. Thanks
True, but without a good idea, it doesn’t matter how much focus you have, how many goals you have, unless you have something new and original to offer, it’s gonna be a lot harder.
Once we failed, it doesn’t automatically mean that we become failures forever. Maybe it’s just the only way for us to see the light in our right track to success. It’s actually not the end of life. We must always be a positive thinker.
Well, I have goals…I need a little more focus. Thanks!
Nice boosting stories and i strongly believe that one should have goals and the desire to achieve them. i believe in that saying, “Rome was not built in a day”!
Very nice indeed. I often thought i can take much ideas in here. Thanks.
yes, I do also believe in those two terms which you discussed in the post Focus and Goals, they are really important in which ever work you do, one must really have to focus on his/her goals to achieve what he want to..
If Steve Kibble is doing that than yes, we can also do as it only a smartness and hard work what makes you reach your goals.. there is much lot to learn form this post ..
In order to become successful, we should focus on what we really want. Never ever let anything or anybody that will hinder all your plans. Rather, use them as your support to attain all your goals in life.
Very nice post. A successful one is the one who loves his career and does everything to make it happen!
@Darell
Your equation: “Goal + Focus + Action = Success” is absolutely perfect!
Normally, we tend to set our goals, however, we’re not focus on how to achieve it. In addition, we don’t even take everything in action. We are more on getting information, lots of ideas from other people then, we won’t apply any of those information. Eventually, overwhelmed with so many stuffs that you can’t even manage to organize in the long run.
