Stopping Short, Bits and Pieces

If someone has a magazine or other publication in front of them and they are typing the description of an item into a Google Search, do you think they will type that 5 or 10 word phrase completely out? If they have the name of a product complete with model number, do you think they will painstakingly type out the entire description?

Would you?

Nope… Most likely you or anyone else will stop short at some point or they will pick the most descriptive words they think will give them the result they are looking for.

Break down your phrases. Even the phrases you find in your keyword tools. Doing this will give you a lot of extra clicks that can lead to a sale if they are targeted. If you have a phrase like “how to build model airplanes”, break it down and enter it into your campaign like this:

to build model airplanes
build model airplanes
how build model airplanes

Get the idea? And don’t forget to test all your matching options at the same time.

Many times this does not change the meaning of the phrase, but it can sure bring in a lot more clicks for you…
